It isn’t easy to explain what presence is, but we all know how it feels when someone is truly present. It isn’t about saying the right things; it is more a feeling of safety and connection without words.
We all need presence, both from others and from ourselves. In today’s fast-paced world, it can be difficult to stay present. Presence feels like a muscle that needs to be practiced every day.
The simplest way to experience presence, in my opinion, is to ask oneself: What am I grateful for?
The moment I connect with a feeling of gratitude, I immediately feel more present. It brings me into the here and now in a way that is grounding.
Gratitude helps us return to the here and now.
What are you grateful for today?
